The point of departure for the work Dress me in a fire was a question, of how to translate the feeling of being on fire into sculptural form. Three free-standing sculptures invite the viewer to walk in between them. The title comes from a Slovenian pop song and could be interpreted ambiguously, on one hand as a declaration of heated desire or on the other hand as something that has an ability to destruct and burn things to the ground. Burning as a symbol of strong emotions and a heated atmosphere relates on one hand to romantic interpersonal relationships as well as a political situation of a place, or community, which can end up in flames, either literally or in a metaphoric way.
The work uses the motif of Cockfighting, a blood sport present in different parts of the world, among others also in eastern Europe. The stylized graphic form of the two cocks fighting relates to the birds often present in the different coats of arms of nations and states, in this case, represents tension within a community. On one hand, speaking about the political atmosphere and on the other hand with double meaning also hints at an erotic tension between the two entities.
